The Tyldesley family home named to commemorate Ernest's county cricket debut for Lancashire (against Warwickshire) at Aigburth, Liverpool on 7th June 1909.

(George) Ernest Tyldesley (5 February 1889, Worsley, Lancashire, England – 5 May 1962, Rhos-on-Sea, Denbighshire, Wales) was an England cricketer. The younger brother of Johnny Tyldesley and the leading batsman for Lancashire. He remains Lancashire's most prolific run-getter of all time. Tyldesley never went on an Ashes tour and played only four times in a home Ashes Test, but in 1921 he did very well in the last two games, scoring 78 at Old Trafford.
